Redflow board members
Brett Johnson has more than 10 years of experience as a director of listed companies, including Scott Corporation Limited and Helloworld Limited. At Scott, Brett was the only independent non-executive director representing minority shareholders and chaired the Audit Committee. Brett was a member of the Helloworld Audit Committee and Remuneration & Nominations Committee. He was also Chairman from August 2014 to December 2015, during which Helloworld was subject to a successful takeover offer. Brett also has more than 25 years experience as General Counsel of listed Australian companies, including Qantas Airways Limited (1995-2012). In those roles, he was a member of the company’s’ executive committee and attended most board meetings.
David Knox, who is Managing Director and CEO of Australian Naval Infrastructure, served as CEO and MD of Santos Limited from 2008-2015. David was previously Managing Director for BP Developments in Australasia from 2003 to 2007. David has worked for BP in the United Kingdom and Pakistan and has held management and engineering positions at ARCO and Shell in the USA, Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Norway. David is originally from Edinburgh, Scotland and has a BSc Hons in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA. David is a fellow of ATSE and FIE Aust and a graduate of the AICD community.
Jenny Macdonald has extensive experience working with ASX-listed and global companies at the CFO and general management level. She serves on the board and audit committee of API, the parent company of Priceline Pharmacy, Soul Pattinson Chemist and Pharmacist Advice. Jenny’s previous roles include non-executive director for hipages and Fitted for Work; CFO and interim CEO at Helloworld Limited; and CFO and General Manager International with REA Group. Jenny chairs the Audit Committee for Redflow.
John Lindsay is an Australian businessman and technology entrepreneur, who has previously held senior technology leadership roles as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at ASX-listed company iiNet Limited, CTO at Internode and General Manager of Chariot Internet. Mr Lindsay, who is co-founder and company director of Adelaide-based enterprise cloud computing consultancy jtwo solutions Pty Ltd, has held also board-level roles for several privately-owned companies. Since February 2017, Mr Lindsay has been a member of the board of the Australian Telecommunication Industry Ombudsman.
David Brant, an experienced businessman with strategic manufacturing expertise, is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD) with more than two decades of manufacturing and corporate experience in Australia and countries in Asia. Mr Brant’s background includes more than 20 years of senior management roles with Norgren, a manufacturer of automation equipment for a wide variety of industries. He then worked for Redflow as Vice President Strategy and Corporate Development from 2010-12 and ran his own start-up energy storage business Energy365 from 2014-17.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND MANAGING DIRECTOR
Tim Harris is a seasoned business executive with extensive experience working for international companies. Prior to joining Redflow, Tim was Chief Commercial Officer for Chorus, New Zealand’s largest telecommunications infrastructure company. Prior to that, Tim spent a decade in senior executive roles with BT, the British multinational telecommunications company that is the UK’s largest provider of fixed-line, mobile, broadband and media services, which has operations in 180 countries.
CHIEF OPERAtiNG OFFICER
Richard Aird is a professional operations manager with more than 20 years of experience in commercial development and operations in construction and rural industries. His success in large-scale rural development enriches Redflow with a wealth of business experience. Richard, who has worked in a range of roles at Redflow since 2009, has first-hand knowledge of customer requirements for grid-connected and off-grid electricity generating and storage systems in both regional and remote areas.
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER AND COMPANY SEcRETARY
Trudy Walsh, a qualified CPA and former CFO for the Tritium, has strong finance experience across a number of industries with both national and international exposure. With a real passion for the business and not just the numbers, Trudy has more than 15 years experience as Country CFO or Senior Business Unit Finance Executive for global companies including Bucyrus, Caterpillar Global Mining, Ansaldo and ABB and several privately-held companies. Trudy is an integral part of Redflow’s senior executive team working closely with senior managers on the company’s growth and commercialisation strategy.
CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER
Ben Shepherd joined Redflow in November 2018 in the new position of Chief Commercial Officer, after establishing deep energy storage industry expertise with CSIRO spinout battery company Ecoult since 2012, where he was Head of Business Development and Product Management. Ben is charged with establishing Redflow’s unique ZBM2 and ZCell batteries in target markets by building up Redflow’s market profile and working alongside the company’s installer partner channel in Australia and internationally. Prior to Ecoult, Ben spent 10 years in business development at Keycorp, which included launching a Keycorp office in the US and opening new geographies such as Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
CHIEF DEPLOYMENT OFFICER
As Chief Deployment Office at Redflow, Tim MacTaggart is responsible for the deployment and support of Redflow’s advanced energy storage technologies. Tim manages an international network of installation partners who deploy Redflow’s zinc-bromine flow batteries around the world. Tim, a cleantech expert and technology commercialisation specialist, joined Redflow from the Queensland University of Technology, where he was the Chief Entrepreneur in Residence at QUT bluebox, working with startups, entrepreneurs and investors to bring innovative research and technologies to market; successfully.
Dr. Mike Giulianini
Chief Technology Officer
Mike Giulianini heads Redflow’s systems engineering department, assisting system integrators with using Redflow’s ZBM2 zinc-bromine flow batteries in energy storage systems. He has more than 13 years of experience as a systems engineer, having held management and executive positions. He has supervised and managed a multitude of projects in energy storage, renewables integration and defence telecommunications. Mike has attained his Laurea Magistrale in electronic engineering, a PhD related to organic photovoltaics from the Queensland University of Technology and a graduate certificate in research commercialisation.
Dr. Alex Winter
In the lead-up to establishing Redflow, Alex Winter spent six years working on the research and development of flowing electrolyte batteries, using his expertise in fluid dynamics and mechanical design. Alex has significant international experience, having lived and worked in Austria and Argentina in various consulting, managerial and engineering roles. Alex contributes to product development and design for manufacturing within Redflow. Alex holds a Bachelor of Engineering with first-class honours and a PhD in the field of mechanical engineering, both from The University of Queensland.
SYSTEM INTEGRATION ARCHITECT
Simon Hackett is an Australian technology entrepreneur with a passion for renewable energy storage. Simon was the founder of Internode and a former director of iiNet Limited, NBN Co Limited and Redflow. Simon’s investment portfolio of innovative Australian technology businesses includes Redflow, AvSoft and UltraServe. Simon, who is Redflow’s largest investor, stepped down from the board in November 2018 to focus on the new role of System Integration Architect, a non-executive technical position that aims to make the battery easy to deploy and easy to use in real-world energy storage systems.
